Help! My online library disappeared after sync

Hello,

I really need your help. I had a complete Zotero library on my online account (zotero.org), which I could see when I first logged in. Recently, I installed Zotero on a new computer. My local library was empty, but when I enabled synchronization, all the documents that were online disappeared, and now both my online and local libraries are empty.

My Zotero account was not empty before synchronization — I saw my old library online.

After enabling sync on the new PC, everything vanished.
I checked the "Trash" in my online account, but it is also empty.

On my computer, I only find the file zotero.sqlite, but there is no backup file (.bak).

Is it possible to restore my previous library from the Zotero server backups? The loss happened very recently, so I am hoping you might still have a copy.

Thank you very much for your assistance.

You likely used Replace Online Library from the empty local library, which people sometimes do by mistake while trying to set up a new computer. Setting up a new computer simply involves syncing normally, which would never do this.

If you were syncing multiple computers, you can likely restore from one of the automatic backups on the computer where you were using Zotero previously and then use Replace Online Library, as explained there.
