two parallel publications wrong numbers in citations

Hello!
I hope everybody that reads this hasgreat evening! Maybe you can save mine...
my problem is that I am working on two publications at the same time. As I am writing for medical journals my citations style numbers the citations as they get cited in the written text. You only can then bibliography which number stands for which paper or book.
I haven´t had a problem during my first paper as I only had one library for it. Now that I have started with the second paper, it just handles it at it the same and numbers the papers wrong. I tried to make samples for each paper, but it doesn´t make a difference. I only can guess, but I think the problem is that Zotero takes all the resources for the citation still from my main library and not from the samples, but I couldn´t find anything online so far.
I would appreciate every help I can get to solve my problem!
  • Just to confirm, you're using the Zotero Add-on in Word to cite the papers and then generate the bibliography.
If so, only papers cited in the text would be included in the bibliography.
You started off with a clean document?

(I'd recommend to switch to an author-date style while you write as it'll make it easier to see what you're citing. A style can then easily be switched.)
  • Good evening again,
thank you so much for your answer!
Yes I can confirm, that I use the Add-on in Word for citing and generating my bibliography. I also can confirm that I started with a new clear Word version. I have no idea why, but since two days it is working. I turned off everything again, like I tried at first, started the computer new and now it is working. Can not say why, but I am very happy, that it works!!!
I hope you have a great weekend ahead!
