Upgrade StorageCannot modify the inline math after it is rendered as math formula

problem: After I inserting the inline math, and type other text outside the inline math, I want to go back to the inline math part to make some modifications on it, but it seems not work. When the cursor is in the inline math for example a+b, it turns to the math environment ($a+B$), but when I type, it goes back to the rendered math (a+b). I cannot insert any characters in.
