Zotero 7.0.24 and NVivo 15.2
Has anyone encountered any problems with importing Zotero 7 references into NVivo 15.2?
With previous versions of NVivo and Zotero, using the Zotero prompt “Export Item,” this would normally appear in NVivo as a *.ris file, to be shown in Unicode UTF8 with the option of “Author and date” and “Create externals” to be imported into a designated NVivo location.
With this new combination of Zotero 7 and NVivo 15.2, though I can still export from Zotero, when trying to import into NVivo I now see two folders – “files” and Exported items”. If I try to import from the folder “Exported items,” which includes a *.ris file, I can see nothing in NVivo, either for ‘Title’ (or ‘author and date’) or for importing into a designated NVivo location.
I've been using Zotero and NVivo for many years so any advice or comments, please? Thanks. LH

dstillmanedited 3 days agoNone of this should have anything to do with NVivo or any changes in Zotero 7. When you export from Zotero as RIS, you can choose whether to include files. If you don't include files, you'll get a single "Exported Items.ris" file. If you do include files, you'll get an "Exported Files" folder with a .ris file and 'files' folder inside it. I don't know if NVivo does anything with PDFs, but you'd need to point it at the .ris file either way.
