Error message when changing citation style (Thieme-german)

I am getting the following error message in my document when I try to change the citation style. When I install and select other external styles, the problem does not occur; it only happens with the "Thieme-german" style. Can someone help me figure out where the problem might be?

This is probably nothing to do with the citation style itself, but something with the document. Please follow the troubleshooting guide to find the culprit and erase the issue. Then you'd be able to switch citation style.

Thanks for your idea. If I change to other citation styles it works completely fine, that's why I assumed it must be the style itself. Will try the troubleshooting though.
