A message continues to pop up that I need to install an app and nothing is populating in the default apps settings page for me to create an association. I have a HP Omnibook x Flip Laptop

There's some problem opening the default web browser on your system. You should check what's set as the default web browser and try fiddling with those settings.

But while you'll want to fix that, that wouldn't stop you from using Zotero. Those are just links to various documentation pages, the same as you can find on https://www.zotero.org/support/
