Moving Zotero to a new folder on a new drive
I have kept my Zotero program and data folders on a HDD, drive D:, because C: was undersized. I have now installed a much larger SSD as C:, and am considering moving the Zotero folders to C:.
My first question is whether there is any material performance advantage to be gained by moving from a HDD to a SSD. My Zotero Data folder is 96 GB with about 106,000 files.
If moving to the SSD is worthwhile, from looking at the documentation and forum postings it appears that the procedure is to:
1. Create on C: a folder with the same name as the default location shown in Settings.
2. Manually move the "Zotero" and "Zotero Data" folders to that location.
3. Under Settings/Advanced, click "Revert to Default Location"
4. Restart Zotero
Do I have this right? Thanks in advance for any advice.

There probably wouldn't be much of a performance impact for attachment files, but opening large PDFs would probably be a bit faster, as would full-text content phrase searches that actually needed to scan the files. Whether that's worth using 96 GB on your SSD probably depends on how much space you have to spare.
(FWIW, we haven't really tested Zotero on HDDs in many years.)
Those migration steps will work, but note that there's only a data directory, named "Zotero" by default. "Zotero Data" isn't a thing.
