Latest Update v7.0.24: Parent Files Not Getting Renamed

The new update (v7.0.24) is preventing Zotero from renaming the parent file automatically. Even after clicking 'Rename File from Parent Metadata', it is not working. Any ideas where I might be going wrong? I have reinstalled the software, but the problem persists.

Ohhh... A quick question: Does that mean I won't be able to rename the files on my disc through Zotero?

No, that's not what it says. Your files on disk are being renamed, and unless you're actually changing the metadata after adding the item, you don't need to run that command at all.

From the link above:

Zotero automatically renames files on disk based on parent item metadata such as the title and authors.

You can view and change the title and filename by clicking on the attachment and looking in the item pane.

But the files on my disc are not getting renamed automatically! I wanted to report this thing; the ugly filenames remain unchanged.

I have attached the screenshot of my Zotero window and the files window. The first file in the file window is the one that I dragged into the Zotero window. The same file is the highlighted one in the Zotero window.

Dragging a file creates a copy by default. The file in your Zotero data directory was renamed.

Even when I browse it through Zotero's 'Add File...' option, it does not rename the file on my disc. Earlier, it used to. May I know what changed, and how I can revert to how it was before?

You are misremembering. That didn't change and never happened. You might have used linked files before, maybe with Zotfile?
