Intermittent Proxy Error (Chrome Extension)
Periodically, when accessing BioMed Central Journals in Chrome, Zotero will throw an error when attempting to proxy the page. This can usually be solved by manually deleting the hostname from the Zotero extension Proxy settings (Options > Proxies > Configured Proxies > Hostnames) and reloading the proxy from the webpage—although this does not always resolve the issue.
Examples of Affected URLs
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Parasites and Vectors
https://login.proxy.subdomain.hostname.ca/login?qurl=https://parasitesandvectors.biomedcentral.com/
Malaria Journal
https://login.proxy.subdomain.hostname.ca/login?qurl=https://malariajournal.biomedcentral.com/
*Note that I have replaced the subdomain and hostname in the URLs for this post.

Oops! It looks like you have attempted to view a page that has not been configured for access.
If you are a library patron...
Please contact your library and provide the name of the resource you were trying to access and the Host line below so the library can work with you to correct this error.
Host https://parasitesandvectors.biomedcentral.com
If you are an EZproxy administrator...
To allow https://parasitesandvectors.biomedcentral.com to be used in a starting point URL, you need to either:
1. Add the Host line above to the existing database stanza for this resource
2. Create a new database stanza for this resource and include the Host line above within that stanza
Please do not add this Host line by itself to the config.txt file because this could cause problems in your configuration or when troubleshooting access to resources in the future.
For more information see Starting Point URLs & config.txt.
For details about how to update this page, see Default Web Pages.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Once the hostname has been removed and the proxy refreshed, the proxied URLs resolves correctly:
https://parasitesandvectors-biomedcentral-com.proxy.subdomain.hostname.ca/
https://malariajournal-biomedcentral-com.proxy.subdomain.hostname.ca/
I seem to only have this issue with BMC Journals and I have had trouble reproducing the issue intentionally--the proxy tends to either work, or it does not. Any assistance in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.
