Data directory location cannot be edited after false entry

I have Zotero installed now on two elderly Linux Mint laptops. On one it works ok. On the other I entered a wrong Data Directory Location. I wanted to change it, but there is no "choose" button like on the other installation.
What can I do? I would prefer to reset only all configs but not to have to repeat the installation. I have deleted the pref.js file but that did not help
