Citation comes up as a footnote without an actual footnote

Hello, I am new in using Zotero, so I might have done some stupid mistake but I have no clue what to do. I have my sources added into the library, however, when I try to add a citation into the text, a small 1 (as if it was footnote marker) shows up instead of the citation. And the 1 doesn't even connect to any footnote. What should I do to have a normal citation?

Depends on what you want in terms of citation style: the easiest would be to move your cursor to the end of the document and click "Add/edit bibliography"
