Zotero 8 beta: external PDF annotations/strikethrough not displaying
Report ID: 717137629 | Debug ID: D141385252
I have a PDF that has been annotated with strikethrough by someone else—I believe using Adobe. When opening the PDF in Zotero the strikethrough doesn't show. It does, however, show in Zotero Android, and also Safari, Preview, Adobe, Firefox and Skim. I believe it showed at some point, whether in Zotero 7 or an earlier version of Zotero 8 beta, but I'm not certain.
The File -> Import Annotations option is greyed out with the PDF open, whether in a tab or a separate window.
I will forward a copy of the PDF in question to support@zotero.org with the link to this thread.
Versions:
- Zotero Android: 1.0.0-186
- Zotero Desktop: 8.0-beta.4+96dd7b16a (ARM64)
- macOS: 15.6 (M2)
- Safari: 18.6 (20621.3.11.11.3)
- Preview: 11.0 (1069.7.1)
- Adobe: 2025.001.20577
- Firefox: 141.0.3 (aarch64)
- Skim: 1.7.11 (163)
