Can't change author field to editor when creating new entry

Hi,

I'm new to Zotero and I've just run into an interface quirk, I think. I'm trying to enter a record for an edited book. By default, the creator type shows as "author". But when I click on author and select "editor" (or for that matter, any item on the menu), the "author" is replaced by "creatorTypes." After entering all the data, the entries in that field are still saved as author. Is this a glitch or am I not using this properly?

(For what it's worth, while that's some sort of bug, there's no reason to be typing this data in manually. That's almost never necessary for published works when using Zotero. Just paste the ISBN into the Add Item by Identifier (magic wand) feature, or go to, e.g., the Amazon page and save from there.)
