Zotero Connector, Library of Congress

Any news on when we could expect the Zotero Connector to be able to import from the new Library of Congress catalog?

I know that we can download and import the MARC record; however, this is still more time-consuming than using the Connector, which I rely on heavily.
  • We've just released support for the new catalog. Your Zotero Connector should auto-update within a few minutes, or you can update translators manually from the Advanced pane of the Zotero settings.
  • It's working perfectly fine for me now. Thanks for the update!
  • It isn't working for me yet; that is, when I have a newspaper search result from Chronicling America up in my browser, and press the "Save to Zotero" button to activate the extension, I do get an entry in Zotero, but it has Citation Key "Article1913"

The connector or Zotero does find the metadata with the name of the publication and the date, it just doesn't choose to make the citation key the same way it did in the past.

This is no doubt my own fault for not understanding the system better, but I would appreciate any help.
  • I've done a little homework and I find that my Better BibTex citation key formula is "auth.lower + shorttitle(3,3) + year" which used to work well with Chronicling America. But now Chronicling America appears to not provide a useful shorttitle so I would like to change to

    "auth.lower + Publication + year"

and indeed this seems to evaluate correctly when I insert this into the "Citation Key Formula" and then press the "snake chasing tail" icon. But I also get an error "Direct field Publication does not exist" and I don't know how to move forward. There is a field "Publication" in the Zotero "Info" panel, and it evaluates correctly when I press the "snake chasing tail" icon.
