Storage Message

I received this message on my computer Zotero in the group but I am not the owner of the group, does this mean storage in my computer or in my own Zotero has reached capacity? Does the owner of the group need to do something?

  • As the message says, the Group has reached the owner's online *file* storage quota. If the owner wishes for more files to be uploaded by any Group members, the owner needs to pay to increase their online file storage quota.

*Data* uploading is always free and unlimited, so that will continue in the meantime; so any newly added items will be synced online. Only their attached file uploads are blocked.

An individual user can always add as many files as they wish locally on their computer (to the Group library or your personal library; as long as they have sufficient local disk space). So you (and other Group members) can still do that. Files added to the Group library will just not be uploaded to the Group on Zotero servers. If the owner increases their file storage quota sufficiently, those files will eventually be uploaded on the next file sync operation.

Your *personal* (not Group) library is subject to your personal online file storage quota.
