Cannot input any character in the last position of a maths equation in a note

Adding a character in the last position of a maths equation closes the maths editor.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Click on a maths equation at the end of the line to enter the edition mode
2) Click after the last character in the equation, just before the last $:

3) Press any character (for example a)
→ The addition of the character is ignored, and the maths editor is exited:

Other unexpected behaviour: If you want to delete the maths equation, you try placing the cursor after the equation. The first press of Backspace enters the equation and the second press of Backspace exits the equation.
