Wrong automatic reference detection breaks original hyperlink

If the automatic reference detection makes a wrong detection, it breaks the original link. Instead, it links to the wrong target that it has identified.
I would have expected that the original hyperlink target would be preserved, so that I can still see the correct target when the automatic detection fails.

For example, on this open access article:
https://doi.org/10.1063/5.0278786

On page 2:
https://s3.amazonaws.com/zotero.org/images/forums/u265723/wg6bks3192jbvq99uvf1.png

I then increase the zoom level to check the target, and it goes to:
https://s3.amazonaws.com/zotero.org/images/forums/u265723/p4kjbisugw4p0z5v6bux.png

If I open the PDF file in an Firefox, the link correctly goes to:
https://s3.amazonaws.com/zotero.org/images/forums/u265723/zcymv0dgjhgjol86io99.png
