Incorrect URLs with extra character

Hi,
I just noticed a number of incorrect URLs. They appear correct in Zotero, and in my blog article, but hovering over the link in the reference shows a URL with an extra character, so the URL fails. Can't figure where it's coming from. Creating a new Zotero entry seems to fix it but that could be a lot of work. More recent ones in other articles seem OK. They are all (so far) links to the British Newspaper Archive. Any ideas?
Thanks

  • Is that screenshot from a PDF? If so, how did you create the PDF, and what are you viewing it in?
  • Sorry if it wasn't clear, its a sceen grab with me hovering over the link (mouse pointer not shown), and the text at the bottom showing where Chrome plans to go. The two are not the same, the one at the bottom (where a click actually takes you) has an extra character ("j") in it, ringed in red by me.
  • That "j" does not feature on the webpage, nor does it appear in Zotero's record for the reference. It just appears from nowhere. Several other instances on the same page.
  • OK, what are the steps you performed to generate citations in Zotero and add them to this webpage?
  • I used the Chrome connector when visiting the page to record it in Zotero. I use the Zotpress plugin to insert the reference into a Wordpress blog page. This example is ref 20 in the page referenced in my first post. The screenshot is Zotero's entry with the correct URL. But when I click the reference on my blog page it goes here:
https://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/viewer/bl/0000i540/19361001/054/0010 which doesn't exist. Note the i in 0000i540 which has appeared from nowhere.

  • If the data is correct (no extra letters) in Zotero desktop and the Zotero web library, this is most likely an issue with Zotpress. You'll need to get in touch with its developer.
