2 issues with bibliography formatting

I am preparing a document in Word for Mac 16.99.2 with Zotero 7.0.22, and encountering two issues with the bibliography. I am using the style "Behavioral Ecology", but also tried "Council of Science Editors, Name-Year 9th edition (author-date)" since Behav Ecol says they use the latter style (https://academic.oup.com/beheco/pages/information_for_authors). I have already ensured that Word and Zotero are up to date, re-installed the Microsoft Word Add-In following the word processor troubleshooting instructions, and installed/re-installed the two relevant styles.

(1) Journal names are not abbreviating. In the Document Preferences box in Word, there is no longer an "automatically abbreviate journal titles" checkbox. Any suggestions for fixing this?

(2) Articles are listed in the bibliography in the order they appear in the document. Behav Ecol articles show references in alphabetical order. Looking at the CSL text for the Behavioral Ecology style, it seems to simply point to CSE (possibly an older version?). CSE Name-Year 9th edition sorts the bibliography in order of appearance. Is the best next step for this issue to ask that the "Behavioral Ecology" style be updated to use CSE 9 but with the bibliography sorted alphabetically? (Or is there a different style that accomplishes what I want?)

Edit: There is a third issue. Both of these styles list the publication year twice. Here is one example.
