can't believe i wasted so much time on this setup just because i was missing a training `/` at the end of the webdav address

If there's some problem, you should report it. Are you saying you weren't able to verify your WebDAV server (in the iOS app?) due to a trailing slash? Can you provide a Debug ID for that? That shouldn't make a difference, and if it does, that's a bug that we'd want to fix.
