Zotero android

When I add large files to zotero desktop they don't synch on my android, as in they do not download, I cannot open them, but they appear in then window.
If I add it to zotero on my phone it appears in the desktop version and I can open it up no problem.

Any ideas?

Sorry, that was entirely wrong.

I tried larger files and they synch quite well no matter where I add them.

So, in android, when I long click on the file and select Retrieve Metadata I get "File not found", what did I do and how do I fix that.

But is your question actually about Retrieve Metadata, or do you just mean you can't open the file on Android? If the latter, see Files Not Syncing.

I would like to open the file with all urs metadata.
I tried selecting download but that didn't work.

Sorry, I don't know what you mean here. Can you provide some screenshots that illustrate the problem?

Sure, the context menue for the problem file does not include the option to download the file or if the file was not downloaded I should have the option to remove the downloaded file.

How about a work around, let's say I remove the problem file from android and it remains on the desktop, is there a way to add it again to the collection along with all its Metadata?

I manged to work around the problem by deleting he file from Zotero_Android, exporting item on from my desktop Zotero, then got that file on my android and imported it to the app. Then went back to the desktop and now I had two versions of the same file, the one newly synched with android and the original one that was exported. I deleted the original and that was it.
