Long time needed to attach a file

It can takes several seconds for attaching a file to an item. The time it takes is not constant for adding the same file. I haven't identified what is affecting the loading time. It becomes longer for larger files and adding multiple files at the same time.
It seems to be delayed by some operations before displaying the files in Zotero.

Here is a debug ID to attach one PDF file to an item (8 seconds for a 600 Ko PDF file):

I think it was faster before.

Hmm, I can't reproduce this. Any connection to which collection you're in, whether the item you're attaching the file to already has other attachments, or whether it's expanded in the item tree?

And do you see the same issue when you add a linked file attachment? This could conceivably be related to a slow drive, or even antivirus software that significantly slows down the file copy operation. But if it's one of those, adding a linked file should still be instant.

It does not seem to depend on the collection, the type of attachment or whether it is the first one or not.
I also see the delay for a linked file attachment.

After 1 or 2 seconds, I see the attachment file appear in the Item Pane. But then it takes around 6-7 more seconds to expand the parent item and then focus the newly added attachment. This is why I linked to the recent changes.

The computer is 9 years old, so possibly reaching its limits.
The drive is a SSD (1 TB SSD NVMe THNSN51T02DU7 NV) so I would not think that it would produce such significant delay.
I haven't changed any antivirus settings recently, so it is probably not responsible here.
