iOS iPad mini 6 battery drain while reading and annotating pdfs

Hello, I use my zotero on my ipad mini 6, and just reading and annotating pdf-s drains my battery very fast. I understand that this issue came up with an earlier version of the app, but it seems that its back. Or maybe I am doing something wrong. Can you help me please? Many thanks in advance!
