Is it possible to set the metadata panel to be horizontal?

By default, the metadata panel in Zotero is fixed vertically on the right side. I think setting it to a horizontal layout could help make better use of the available space. I'm wondering if there's a way to adjust this setting. Does anyone know how to do it?
