OnlyOffice Plugin - Extra lines in bibliography

Hello there,

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this, so please feel free to let me know if it isn't. I'm having a weird issue where the Zotero inserts extra lines in the bibliography in .docx documents when using OnlyOffice. I switched to OnlyOffice to help with compatibility when I'm sending documents around to other collaborators that use Microsoft Word, and for the most part I like the experience much more than LibreOffice. But when I finished drafting this document and inserted the bibliography, every entry was separated from the next by two lines. Not line-spacing being set to two lines, but two actual blank lines that I could type on if I clicked into them. Any idea why this is happening or how to fix it other than manually removing them once the document is finalized?

I attached an image showing what I mean. When you highlight the bib, the field codes show the presence of actual lines rather than just spacing, and you can go in and type on them or remove them manually. Also, everything on my system is running the latest versions, so this is on OnlyOffice 9 and Zotero 7.0.10

Thanks for any insight y'all have, and sorry if this is the wrong place to post about this.
Ben

  • The Only Office plug-in is provided by Only Office, so you would need to contact them for support (unless the issue is the same in LibreOffice and/or Word, which I don't think is the case here)
  • There have been other reports of extra line breaks with the OnlyOffice plugin like this before, so I think it is a general problem on their end
  • Thank you both for the insights! Yes, it is only happening in OnlyOffice and not Libre. I'll see if I can reach out to them about the issue. I've got a decent bit of programming experience, so if the plugin is open source then maybe I can take a look and see about fixing the problem.

Thanks again for the direction and the kind feedback,
    Ben
