My library has a size of 5GB due to many pdf files. Can I use the Android app without downloading the complete library to my phone?

I would like to use the app for adding and eding items, but without adding 5GB to my phone.

The app only downloads files on demand; you actually _can't_ (with reasonable effort) download all your PDFs at once.

(You can long-press on All Items and download all files in the library that way, but currently you'd have to do that every time new files were added, since there's not yet an equivalent of "at sync time" for file downloading in the mobile apps.)
