zotero_connector_error of "zotero unavailable" with windows defender

- Zotero version: 7.0.19
- OS:Windows 10
The zotero_connector plug-in always reports an error, pointing out that zotero is unavailable. I tried all the measures on the following pages and found no problems.
https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/connector_zotero_unavailable

Later, using wireshark to diagnose the network connection, the results are as follows.

Then it is speculated that it may be a problem with the protective wall. Finally, zotero is added to the firewall to allow, and the problem is solved.

hoping it helps
  • That's a configuration problem with your firewall, and wouldn't be the default setting on Windows. No firewall should block traffic on 127.0.0.1.
  • First of all, I don't mean to offend. The purpose of writing this post is only to provide a reference for people who encounter similar problems.
Secondly, my problem did not always appear, but suddenly appeared after a connector plug-in update, and the zetero 6 did not have similar problems. This process took me about a week.
Finally, I didn't deliberately set up my firewall for zetero. Just imagine, who would add such good software to the blacklist?

The way the Zotero Connector connects to Zotero hasn't changed. I'm just explaining that no firewall would block this kind of localhost traffic by default, and Windows Defender certainly doesn't, so this was some non-standard configuration change on your system. I can't tell you what that was, but it wouldn't have been related to a Zotero Connector update.
