Control of Word format - margin wrong on bulk Bibliography export

Day Two on Zotero. Got the word plugin to work. Yay. Imported a whole bunch of documents. Yay. Getting citations to work. Yay. Having a few output formatting challenges though. One challenge is what happens when I want to create bibliography based purely on the contents of a library folder, not on the basis of document citations. I select all the documents in the folder I want to hoover up, via a manual Select All, right click, select Create Bibliography from selected items, and choose for it to be copied to my paste bin. When I paste it into the Word document, all the content is as it should be, which is great, but the style of each entry is such that in the style that appears, the UNDENT in the hanging para appears left offset from the page margin, rather than being the page margin.

Can anyone familiar with this suggest a fix? In theory I'm using APA style. I believe that's what I've told it to do, but it isn't APA style to mess with the page margin, so something's gone astray. Where can I look to, to fix this? Do I need to do some fussing around via the Style Editor? (That's a bit daunting tbh.) Thanks!
  • The Zotero plugin for different word processors corrects for quirks of each specific processor, and thus formats the citations and bibliography correctly. When copying the bibliography directly from Zotero, we have to export with the format that will look best in most scenarios, but cannot guarantee that it will be perfect in every document. There's nothing you can change in the citation style to fix this. You would have to modify the style of the pasted bibliography after the fact, manually. If you need to do this multiple times, you should store the formatting in a named Word style (e.g. Bibliography), that way when you re-paste the bibliography you can re-apply the style as a single step.
  • You can save the "Create Bibliography" output to RTF and open in Word. That will have correct margins.
  • Thanks, @Adomasven - the easiest hack would be to change the page margin to equal the undent amount, in a separate section - think that's a good option.
And thanks, @Adamsmith - will definitely give this a go, too!
