Upgrade Storageretrieving PDF annotations with external client
Can anyone point me to the best place to start figuring out how to access pdf annotations and extract them programmatically for use outside of zotero? For context: before switching to Zotero 7, I annotated PDFs manually in other PDF readers (various). Since the annotations were stored in the PDF file, extracting them was pretty easy, and I wrote various little scripts to grab tham and insert them e.g. into lecture notes.
I would like to do something similar through the Zotero api: identify an item, look for pdf attachments, and then extract the annotations w/ page numbers. Can that be done with Zotero atpresent? Has someone in fact already done it? Thanks much for the help!
