APA 7 Sentence Case Issue in Word

I recently began using Zotero and have noticed an issue when creating bibliographies using the Word plug-in. Zotero is enforcing capitalization rules rather than sentence case despite what Zotero's own site saying it won't (https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/sentence_casing). Yes, I have selected 'sentence case' in my database source titles but it still spits out capitalized titles in the bibliography. It would be great if Zotero could correct this issue because as I've experienced and read on these forums, it doesn't seem to be user error.

On that note, has anyone found a workaround that doesn't involve having to manually go in and edit the bibliography?
  • APA uses title case for periodicals.

If you're seeing something you think is incorrect, we'd need to see an example.
  • dstillman, I don't know if you're a wizard or not, but I found this issue affecting academic journals and website citations, searched the forums, toggled my database to sentence case and retried the bibliography 3 times, restarted zotero and still it didn't work, which led me to post. You commented so I opened a new document to test again and now it is functional. Must have needed a new window in word to correct. My apologies but thank you for clarifying!

But is it working in your existing document?

You should get the same results in an existing and new document. If you're seeing the wrong thing in an existing document, you may have made a manual edit (e.g., before you learned how to correct the data in Zotero itself) that's preventing it from updating. You can just delete and reinsert your bibliography if so.
  • Hello again! Just got the chance to go back in, and no it is still not working in the existing document. It was a relatively short bibliography that I manually adjusted and the issue seems to be fixed moving forward. Thanks!
