"Sync process already running"

I am trying to sync zotero on a laptop and I get a red exclamation point that says "A sync process is already running. To view progress, check the window in which the sync began or restart Firefox."
I have tried restarting firefox but this doesn't do anything.
How do I sync my library??
Please help, this is extremely urgent.

    Also I'm on a PC, if that makes any difference. An old one.

    Restart your computer or open Task Manager and kill the firefox.exe process.

    I have a similar problem running Zotero 2.0.3 and syncing between three computers (Windows XP, Ubuntu 10.04, and Windows 7). The Windows XP and Ubuntu machines are currently syncing fine, however whenever I run the Windows 7 sync, I get the message: "A sync process is already running. To view progress, check the window in which the sync began or restart Firefox."

    The problem just started recently. I have tried 1) restarting Firefox, 2) restarting the computer, and 3) reinstalling zotero after completely deleting it from the Firefox profiles folder.

    In your case that may be a side effect of another error you're getting, for which a proper error message isn't being displayed due to a typo. Check the SSL certificate of your WebDAV server by loading it in the browser.

    Thanks for the help. I was accidentally accessing the WebDAV server over SSL. Once I changed the URL dropdown in the sync dialog to "http" it fixed the problem.
