Last week I downloaded zotero and started adding papers to different folders.
Today I open zotero and everything is gone. After some googling I now know I can make an account and back up to the cloud somehow. But is there any way to restore the work I had already done?

This generally happens when people delete Zotero data outside of Zotero while trying to clear disk space:
