Zotero 7.0.15 on Ubuntu 22.04
Right click a pdf, show file. What opens in the Dolphin file manager is a directory:
/home/kerryn/.zotero/zotero/hmx35jvq.default/zotero/storage/CW28S7J8/Kerry A Nice et al. - 2025 - Effects of city design on transport mode choice and exposure to health risks during and after a cris-.pdf/
Which doesn't exist.
It should show the file
Kerry A Nice et al. - 2025 - Effects of city design on transport mode choice and exposure to health risks during and after a cris-.pdf
in the directory
/home/kerryn/.zotero/zotero/hmx35jvq.default/zotero/storage/CW28S7J8/
I assume adding the trailing slash is the problem.

2) While it shouldn't matter, is there a reason you still have your data directory within the profile directory? That was the location in the original Zotero extension for Firefox, and Zotero should've migrated that to "Zotero" in your home folder years ago.
3) Can you provide a Debug ID for reproducing this?
knice@7020l-215305-l:/opt$ ls -l
total 156
drwxrwxr-x 8 knice knice 4096 Jun 12 14:54 Zotero_linux-x86_64_7.0.5
knice@7020l-215305-l:~/.local/share/applications$ ls -l
total 168
lrwxrwxrwx 1 knice knice 45 Sep 19 2024 zotero.desktop -> /opt/Zotero_linux-x86_64_7.0.5/zotero.desktop
2) I installed the Firefox plugin years ago and then never used it. Last year I migrated everything from Mendeley and started using Zotero. I guess the new installation just used whatever was already set up.

Since other people haven't reported this, I would test switching back to Nautilus to see if that helps.
You should also close Zotero and move your data directory (the last 'zotero', containing 'storage') to be 'Zotero' in your home folder. Zotero should automatically switch to that location when it starts up.
