Add or export annotations conditional on colour?

edited 3 days ago
Hello,

I am increasingly using annotation colours to code for different types of comments.

Once done, I can see and edit the colours in the pdf viewer, I can filter by colour in its sidebar, and I can switch colours on or off in the notes editor.

Can I "Add a Note from Annotations" for only one colour?

Can I "Export Note" including only one colour?

Thanks
  • Yes, for a single document, you can just filter by color in the reader sidebar, select all shown annotations, right-click on them, and select Add to Note.

For multiple documents across your library, you'll be able to do this in Zotero 7.1 (once we add the ability to filter annotations in the items list by color).
  • Thank you!

For now I am working one document at a time.
When I do as suggested, the "Add to Note" option is greyed out.
This true whether or not the PDF document already has a note document under its parent item.

I am using Zotero 7.0.15 on a macOS Monterey 12.7.6. Any suggestions, please ?

  • You need to open a note in the right-hand pane.
  • It works !

With the PDF document in the middle, both left and right panes open, I select notes on the left panel, the `Add` option is now available and the annotations are sent to the note open on the right.

This is going to be very useful.
