Installation failed and extracting metadata from the PDF from the WebLibrary doesn't work either

I had to reinstall the Zotero app on my PC. After downloading Zotero and running the installation, I encountered the error: 'Extraction failed. Can not open the output.' Could you please guide me on what to do? I tried using the WebLibrary instead, but some functionalities don't work there. For instance, extracting metadata from the PDF, and I'm not even sure I can do it manually (at least I don't see the option, after looking for it for a while).

Any help is appreciated.

    If this is an institutional computer, that's likely due to third-party security software on the system. You'll need to talk to your IT department.
  • Thanks! It is indeed an institutional computer; I'll reach out to the IT department. Do you have any advice on how to extract metadata from the PDF on the WebLibrary?

    PDF metadata retrieval is coming to the web library soon. In general, though, you shouldn't expect the web library to have full functionality:
