Zotero 7 is extremely slow on my MacBook Pro

I have recently updated from Jurism back to Zotero, and downloaded Zotero 7. The software is excruciatingly slow and I can barely press a button. I synced all my library and try to run in troubleshooting mode, but even then it has been incredibly slow. Can anyone suggest some things to try? I am not very tech inclined, so may need a bit more guidance.
  • Something is very wrong if that's happening. Restart your computer and try without running any other programs.

    If you can still reproduce it, disable all plugins and provide a Debug ID for Zotero startup through a few minutes of the problem occurring, using the "Restart with Logging Enabled…" option.
