error 1017257614 -- openoffice java error again...
Hello!
A few times already the Java error with the OpenOffice extension was reported. Apparently the error is still not fixed. After some time when the citation insertion worked I now get the infamous "fields is null" error with any operation I try.
I tried the suggestions of the board (change Java path) without success.
Installation on Linux should be up to date: Zotero 2.0.2, OOPlugin 3.0, Firefox 3.5.9, Java 1.6.15.
Is there really nobody able to program a stable solution?
Cheers!

Have you tried debugging your document as suggested in the documentation?
I had "Show changes" on. Switched of now. Same error.
N.B. The referencing system should not interfere with unrelated OO functions => bad programming. (Additionally: Zotero is advertised for collaboration -- doesn't this require tracking changes?)
If "debugging the document" refers to going through the references one by one I actually refuse to do this.
See, the references and bibliography are added to the document by some algorithm. Thus, if errorneous stuff appears in the document it is the fault of the program, not mine, and this is what should be fixed. Also: some faulty reference should not break the whole system; indeed, the software should continue to work and *helpfully* indicate what to correct... Java reports "Null pointer exception", the least informative of all errors. Such stuff should be caught properly and handled gracefully.
This is what I was referring to when I wrote: Error not fixed.
(Sorry, I had to write this. Zotero is so nice! -- But this stupid thing renders it virtually unusable for serious work.)
Cheers!
Incompatibility with that features is a known and documented issue -

obviously it'd be nice if it were working and if you know enough about programming to judge whose fault it is I'm sure people would appreciate you contributing to a fix.
