Access Denied Error + Unauthorized Active Session

Hello Zotero Support,

Today, I noticed a session in my account activity I didn’t recognize:

Device: Chrome on Windows 10

IP: [removed]

Time: 2025-05-25 05:19:17

I had not opened Zotero before that time today.

When I tried to log out that session, I got this error:

Access Denied – You do not have access to this area.

I’m very concerned this could be a compromise or bug, and I don’t want anyone else to have access to my account.

I’ve already:

Changed my password

Deleted all API keys

Please investigate. My Zotero user ID is **3**7**. I can provide my user ID privately if needed

  • I'm not sure why you think that's an unauthorized session? That's just the IP address you're posting from.
  • And note that if the link on that page said "Log out" rather than "Remove Session" it's because it was your current session from the browser you were viewing the page on.
