Error adding citation: number in parentheses

When I try to add a citation, a number appears in parentheses. The data entered into the software is correct and the citation style is correct.

That's likely just correct and how a citation in a numeric style looks (I assume you're using Vancouver style or so).

You'll see the reference information in the bibliography.
