Is there a way to make the text highlight/sticky note/underline comment text visible at a glance?

When I read papers I highlight an interesting part of some paragraph and then add a comment on that hightlight. Later, say when I'm writing the review, I need to compile these notes that I wrote into a cohesive whole.

I find this workflow difficult to execute efficiently in Zotero because the text comments are "hidden", and I need to click on my highlight to see what I wrote. This makes the whole process rather slow.

On the other hand, using a separate textbox kind of breaks my "comment exactly on the relevant part of the sentence" idea.

Ideally, there would be a setting that would allow me to display all my highlight comments above the highlight, or on the margins with an arrow pointing to the highlighted part (like in the todonotes LaTeX package).

Have you encountered this issue? Am I missing this "show comments" switch? What is a good alternative?

You're aware that you can view all annotations in the Annotations tab of the left-hand sidebar? There are two ways to work with annotations in the reader: with the sidebar closed, in which case you have to click on annotations to see or edit comments, and with the sidebar open, in which case they're just shown there and clicking on an annotation just focuses the annotation in the sidebar. (You still have to click to expand long comments in the sidebar. We could conceivably offer a way to expand all annotation boxes.)

You can also create a note from the annotations in the right-hand pane, which might be a step you take as you begin working those annotations into a larger document.
