Android: Differences in folding and non-folding modes

On my folding phone (google pixel 9 pro folding) I can open a pdf in folder mode, and when I unfold I can open another pdf, and then when I swap between folded and unfolded it will go back and forth between the two pdfs. It's like folded and unfolded have two different instantiations of the alp
