Adding Files on iPad removes all Metadata
Hi, when adding files on my mac using the Safari browser extension, I get all the metadata automatically added to the file. On iOS, there is no such browser extension and instead files need to be added through the "share" menu (similar to how you would share a link to the webpage etc.). However, this removes all metadata from the file I am trying to add. Is there a way to add documents on the iPad while preserving the metadata? It is a bit annoying to add something on the iPad only to having to go back later on my mac and re-adding all the files such that the metadata is imported.
You can trigger metadata retrieval back on the desktop just by right-clicking on the file and choosing Retrieve Metadata. You don't have to re-add anything.
The iOS app will be gaining PDF metadata retrieval soon, but note that, as with the desktop app, you should almost always save from the article page if one is available, not save the PDF directly. Both the desktop app and the iOS app will save metadata from the webpage and automatically attach a PDF if one is available.
