Upgrade StorageSafari connector icon missing – not showing in Safari extensions

I'm using Zotero on macOS with Safari. The connector used to work fine, but recently I noticed that the Zotero save button (the red “Z” icon or document icon) is no longer appearing in Safari. I also checked Safari > Settings > Extensions, and Zotero Connector doesn't appear at all.
Things I’ve tried:
Restarting Zotero and Safari
Checking for updates
Downloading the Zotero app again
Looking in “Customize Toolbar” in Safari (the icon is not available)
Is there a way to reinstall the Safari connector manually, or force Safari to recognize it?

Delete the app from Applications and then reinstall it. Don't just overwrite it.
