Android Connector App: Updates on its release timeline and suggestions for momentary alternatives?

I've been looking into the possibility of seamlessly adding papers to my Zotero library while browsing them on my Android phone's Google Chrome, as to quickly classify them whenever I find them on the fly while commuting, and then be able to access the saved PDF copy on my laptop's application for a more in-depth read.
(I.e. click a button on Android's Google Chrome to directly create a new entry in the "Storage" folder of my "Data Directory Location" on my connected Laptop, as it normally occurs when using the laptop's Connector plugin, and then later use the corresponding entry on the laptop Zotero App to open and read with my predefined pdf viewer the locally stored pdf copy)

I see that the Android application, which supposedly would be providing me this feature, has been under development for some time now, but it is not yet known how long that will still require.
I was wondering, therefore, if there is any update in this sense and also if there are any other way I can achieve this for the time being
