Zotero Full-text Searching Performance

Hello,
Zotero has been such an awesome software and most of my labmates using it. Zotero 7 perticularly user friendly and we certainly loves it.

An issue that existed for a long while and bothered us significantly that when we need to full-text search in thousand page specifications, it takes over ten seconds to finish. In comparison, Preview have the results stable under 2 seconds, almost instantly returned.

I have tried to turn the indexing parameters all the way up, also tried to build a custom version and removed the indexing cap to ensure this specification is full indexed. But, the performance does not feel much different. I have checked many discussion on the forums regarding the searching performance issue, seems not much can help on large PDF.

I wish to bring this to developers attention again, hope for some workarounds.

macOS 15, Intel 2019. Plain Zotero without additional add-ons.

    Are you referring to searching the library or searching a document in the reader?

    Searching inside a document, nor the library.
