Can't import and read pdf file!!

Help me!!!!!
Just updated Zotero 7 and its plugins. Encountered two issues:
1.All previous files cannot be opened— it seems the previous file path can no longer be found.
2.New PDF files cannot be imported; dragging them into Zotero results in no reaction.

  • I think it's an issue of application permissions, because local pictures also can't be imported. However, I tried the following in the software properties: 1. Select or cancel running as an administrator; 2. Modify user permissions. Still, the problem remains unresolved. I sincerely ask for everyone's help!
  • update:reinstall the app, reinstall version 6 and 7, restart the desktop, still can't solve the problem.
  • What operating system?
  • windows 10
  • windows 10
  • update:
    add file--fail no reaction
add link to file-the link shows on the screen but still can't read it. open pdf in new tab-----a new tab shows but there's nothing.

Restart in Troubleshooting Mode (Help → "Restart in Troubleshooting Mode…”), which temporarily disables all plugins.

If that fixes it, you'll need to identify the plugin that's causing it and then report the problem to the plugin's developer.

If not, provide a Debug ID for reproducing this.
  • Hi, thanks for your reply. The debug ID is D1285501493.

Have you symlinked your storage folder to somewhere else?
  • Yeah. I symlinked the storage folder to the Google Drive before. How can I fix that problem? I have tried to uninstall Zotero and "Remove my Zotero personal data and customizations", but that didn't work.

You'll need to remove the symlink and move the real 'storage' folder back to the data directory.
