Leviathan (Deutsch)
Hi everybody, I have just encountered a problem when using the citation style Leviathan (Deutsch): When citing authors with the identical Last Name I get the following citations for the footnotes and the bibliography:
Footnotes:
A) Xinbei Ma et al. 2023
B) Xueguang Ma et al. 2023
C) Yubo Ma et al. 2023
D) Anton Maier 2024
E) Berti Maier 2024
F) Maier, Maier Maxi 2025
Bibliography:
A) Ma, Xinbei et al. 2023. Query Rewriting for Retrieval-Augmented Large Language Models. arXiv.
B) Ma, Xueguang et al. 2023. Fine-Tuning LLaMA for Multi-Stage Text Retrieval. arXiv.
C) Ma, Yubo et al. 2023. »Large Language Model Is Not a Good Few-shot Information Extractor, but a Good Reranker for Hard Samples!«, in Findings of the Association for Computational Linguistics: EMNLP 2023, S. 10572–10601.
D) Maier, Anton 2024. Zotero Test. Berlin, Heidelberg: Springer Berlin Heidelberg.
E) Maier, Berti 2024. Noch ein Test für Zotero. Berlin, Heidelberg: Springer Berlin Heidelberg.
F) Maier, Max; Maier Maxi 2025. Dies ist ein Test-Buch. Berlin, Heidelberg: Springer.
The bibliography looks alright, however there seem so be some bugs in the footnotes:
- When citing several authors with the same last name, the complete first name is cited as well, whereas, according to the citation style, the first name should be abbreviated (except for first names starting with the same letter (A ,B)). (A; B; C, D, E)
- Moreover, the first and last name are be inverted. (A, B; C; D; E)
- When citing two authors with the identical last name and with first names starting with the same letter, only one of them is cited fully (F). Normally, both first names should be written out.
Could you please look into this and, if necessary, adjust the citation style? Thank you very much for your kind support.

And you could've just continued in your other threads. This actually helps with the fact that you're most likely using a modified version of Leviathan (going by your other threads) and not having mentioned this in this thread.
You'd need to fix this in your edited style.
For future issues, I'll make sure to continue this thread.
