Constant Hanging when adding items

Whenever I want to add an attachment to an item, or transfer files into Zotero from Flinder (I'm on a Mac), firefox hangs - beachball comes out - often for a long time. Usually I am transfering PDF files into firefox from the a Finder window. Or else I might be attaching a webpage to an item. Running latest versions of both Zotero and Firefox (that is, the very latest of both, the trial builds). This is a long standing issue over all recent models of both firefox and zotero.

    yeah - Zotero indexes the file immediately and that causes the hang - there is a very old thread in which Dan suggest that FF 3.x would allow for a better solution, but afaik there has been no activity on that front for quite a while.
