I notice that the same journal has different variations in my Zotero. Is there a way where you can merge journals (not articles)

I doubt that the target group - researchers (outside computing) have any intentions to do any scripting. This is hopefully a feature which later will be invented. Many reserachers will search for a publication name in their database. It is cumbersome, when downloaded publications have a lot of different journal names despite there are from the same journal. One of the few cases where Endnote does it better
