PDF attachment: Disable restoring of the last view state
How does one disable for PDF attachments restoring of the last view state (position within the document and zoom level)?
This is very annoying, especially because the PDF rendering speed is not stellar (read: first page begins to render, one starts to scroll/... to the desired location within the document, only to be moved back to the last position & zoom level once the rendering is done).
Steps to reproduce:
1) Add an arbitrary item to the Zotero DB + add to it a PDF attachment.
2) Double-click the item from Step 1 to open the attached PDF file.
3) Scroll in the displayed PDF, e.g., to the second page and change the zoom level. Then close the PDF tab.
4) Double-click the item from Step 1 to open the attached PDF file. Once the rendering is finished, the view state (position & zoom level) is restored to that from the last time.
Expected result:
The attached PDF document should always be opened at their first page and at the default zoom level. The position or zoom level should not be changed once PDF rendering is finished.
Actual result:
The attached PDF initially are opened at the first page and at the default zoom level, but the position within the document and zoom level _are changed_ to the last known state for that particular document once PDF rendering is finished.
I understand that some people may prefer the current behaviour, but it only makes sense if one wants to continue reading a previously opened document. Otherwise -- when going through various sources and finding the necessary pieces of information -- it only annoys the user.
In other words, this should be configurable.
Thanks.
